Our History

“Children Education & Social Welfare Society (CEWS)” was established in Super Town Walton Lahore in 1997,, while migrated on 2000 for the sake to serve humanity of underprivileged areas of Bedian Road Lahore, through rehabilitating a ghost Government’s Primary school Chung Khurd, Bedian Road Cantt. Lahore. It’s a unique example in the history of Pakistan, the CEWS conducted there a Silver Jubilee Seminar on 19 December, 2021 which was chaired by the Chief Justice ® High Court Lahore Justice Sardar Muhammad Shamim Khan, in that rehabilitated said Government’s High school Chung Khurd Lahore in the community, for the community and with the community. Additionally, the CEWS served various projects to ease disadvantaged, marginalized and vulnerable population of kutchiabadis (communities) of uban slums and rural areas of Punjab.

The CEWS have worked with national and international partners as the Australian High Commission, German High Commission, Punjab Bait-ul-Mal, Punjab Social Services Board, Health Department (Punjab AIDS Control Program (PACP)) / UNICEF. Last but least the local philanthropists are worth mentioning by which we have successfully completed very projects and at the end received a very encouraging letter of appreciation for the work carried out by our very devoted and dedicated team.

The CEWS introduced a network of over 50 Community Based Organizations (CBOs) which enhanced over 10,000 local population’s capacity building to resolve their grievances with their own strategies like trained them that how to hunt a fish rather than to donate a fish.. LUMS like renowned institutions rated an extraordinary services as well years lobbying with law makers (National Assembly including Senate) a Bill passed on 17th November, 2021 for up gradation of alternative medicines (Ayurvedic, Homeo and Unani).

The CEWS even organized a legal panel comprising of Lahore high court judges ® and senior counsels through providing legal consultancy to resolve local population’s disputes at their door steps to lower burden of litigation on police department including judiciary.

The CEWS also extended volunteering opportunities to global volunteers of US, UK, UAE, Germany, France, India, Pakistan and so on.

The CEWS have had a credit of experience of serving multi category projects of education, health, rights, capacity building, environment, poverty alleviation and infrastructure to ease marginalized and vulnerable underprivileged population of kutchiabadis (communities) of urban

slums and rural areas of Punjab Pakistan. The CEWS served over 2.3 million in over 25 years of vulnerable and marginalized population specifically women and children.

That’s why the CEWS was rated BEST-NGO by the Government of Punjab Pakistan as well recommended for the biggest award of Pakistan i.e. President Civil Award of Pakistan”. Thus, the CEWS progressed from being a community based to a global level organization.
